Checkbox multiple select

Hi,
Have created a field of type checkbox
Display type: Checkbox
with a static list but when run on a page, the control behaves as a radio button only allowing one item selection.
Any other setting required?

If you want multiple choice checkboxes, you have to add one field for each checkbox. If you don't know in advance how many you need, use a Repeater.

Can't wrap my head on this so far.
I seem to be able to assign a static list to a field marked as a checkbox and on display I get it showing these as 'options' but the behavior is of a radio button when you do the selections.
This is a bit misleading since this is not what is expected of a checkbox where I would be able to toggle my selection on each line item.
A small example would be appreciated especially using a list and not tied to a table, this will help understand this construct.

Yes I agree it's misleading. The problem is that each field can only have a single value so there is currently no way that one field can support multiple values. Therefore you have to implement it differently i.e. one separate checkbox field for each selectable option, not using a list.
