Styling Assistant

In the OUTLINE view, when I right click on a field and then select STYLE, the Styling Assistant window appears.

However, it is TRUNCATED to the right...in other words the window is to small to display everything it should and the items on the right get cut off.

Is there a way to open up a complete window?

Joe,

You've had a couple of these issues which is not normal. A few questions:

What hardware are you using?
What OS?
What are the dimensions of the monitor (in px)?
Which look and feel are you using - File > Preferences > UI Options ?

This dialog box and almost all others in Ebase Xi should be centered in the middle of your display. If it isn't, you should be able to drag it around using the title bar.

The dialog box is centered...it just isn't fully opened. Lot's of room.

Joe,

There is definitely something wrong here. I suspect it may be something to do with the graphics driver, possibly a bug or an incompatibility with the Java version being used - Java 6 I think. We come across these issues rarely nowadays but used to get more of them with earlier Java versions.

I'm afraid I don't know how to fix it. Suggestions include:

1. Make sure you've got the latest graphics driver installed - definitely do this.
2. Change the Ebase look and feel - this is worth a go. I would suggest Metal first as this is closest to being a native Java look and feel.
3. Switch to Java 7. I hesitate to suggest this as you're just starting with Ebase - and there's no guarantee of success. You can find out the Java version being used from Help > About Ebase (it's the client Java we're interested in).
4. Adding -D switches to the Java startup of the client. There are lots of these, and I have little faith that they would change anything.
