I am on this page:
http://dev-docs.verj.io/ufs/doc/tables_tutorial.htm
below this heading:
Create the form and set up table display
In particular, I am comparing the appearence of the eBase window/table on the tutorial with the appearance of the table on my computer.
Basically, in the tutorial's table, under the columns Cd id Artist Title you will see text boxes in the table cells.
On my screen, I do not see any text boxes. The cells are all blank. There does not appear to be any data entry allowed.
At what point in the tutorial should I see text boxes? How can I get them to appear at this point?
It seems I would select all of the columns and then do something, but I am not sure what it is. I would try a few things(as I have done in the past) but at this point I am afraid I might do damage I can't repair.
Thanks.

It sounds as if your table is display only - the Display only property appears in the Properties View under the General Section. If a field or column control is not display only, it is editable and you see the box. The rule with this property is that a control is display only if it, or any of its parent controls, is marked as display only. So I suggest that you click on one of the columns and check if display only is clicked, then do this on all parent controls all the way to the top of the tree. Once you've found it, click on the property to unset it. My guess is that the Table Control is marked display only.
Next question is how did it get like this? I don't know the answer to that. There is a way you could configure the system so all new Table Controls were display only but I don't think it's likely that you've done this.

Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding
And the correct answer is:
Table Page Control was set to DISPLAY ONLY.
Thank you sir.
Prior to my posted question, I did go through the fields and found them to be NOT checked for display only. It did not occur to me to look at the parent controls.
Do you want to know why I did not consider the parent controls? Because I am so used to C R A P P Y software that I was not expecting there to be a parent control.
Again, eBase impresses me. It truly appears to be a well matured and thought out product.
Now, get over here to Southern California so I can reward you with a beer....
