using firebug to trace through code.

How do I kick-in execution in debug mode?
I have tried to add a debugger; statement in a javascript file that is executed but this is being ignored when I open the page in a debugger enabled browser, refresh and all don't seem to affect this.

I guess I should state the obvious: you can only debug client side Javascript, not server side. But debugging client scripts should work fine. I use Firefox and I often find that I have to set the breakpoint first then re-run the form. Not too sure exactly why this is.
