Question:

Do you have any instructions on how to configure the application server for using secure forms (https), also how does one go about requesting a certificate for this?

Answer:

If you want to make your forms secure online, you have to buy an SSL Certificate from a Secure Certificate Supplier. We can't recommend which one you should use, but we do have experience using Verisign and they have detailed instructions on their website on how to request a certificate and install it on your web server.

Instructions from the Versign website can be found here:

http://www.verisign.com/support/ssl-cer ... icate.html

In addition to this you can read the Ebase documentation on how to setup Ebase forms securely.

or.....

If you only want to want to ensure that the data being transmitted and received by the server is private and cannot be snooped by anyone who may be eavesdropping on the connection then you don't need to buy an SSL Certificate, you can use the tool provided by java called keytool to create a "self-signed" Certificate.
