Page and Form....differences

#1

Postby Joe Blake » Fri Sep 20, 2013 4:35 am

Can you provide a reference/explanation of the differences between a PAGE and a FORM.

It seems to me a PAGE is considered a subset of a FORM in eBase. But in my mind a form should be part of a page...

Thanks.

Hi Joe,

A page is part of a Form in Ebase and not to be confused with an HTML form element.

A form consists of one or more pages. These can be chained together in the Pages Properties (Next Page).

By doing this you can add the Next Page, Previous Page button controls that automatically display based on next page etc....

The word 'Form' is the term used to describe an an Ebase Form. This could have been something like a Job application form or Information submission form which contains multiple pages. As Ebase has evolved and now allows you to create any structure you like and is very flexible. You should think of a Form as a base holding area for web page content.

I hope this helps

This was useful.

The most important statement being the use of the next page/previous page buttons. That really clears it up for me.
