Storing documents in Oracle
How can I store and retrieve documents in Oracle using an Ebase form?

Storing documents in Oracle
We have been asked for more detail on this question. As far as we are aware, the following is what is required (please correct us if this is wrong!):
We would like to store and retrieve highly sensitive/confidential documents via Ebase.
The UPLOAD command puts documents into a generally accessible directory on the Ebase server which is unsuitable for this requirement.
Is there a method whereby documents could be stored within Oracle, through Ebase, using one of their binary datatypes?

Some function or resource which puts a file in a blob would be really helpful. The function should have a parameter for the file (path) to be stored and one for the table/column (resource) where it should be stored.
Perhaps a option to set if the stored file should be moved or copied, this way I don't have to call the deletefile function and have it all in one go.
Some function or servlet to retrieve it from the blob would be needed as well. This should "generate" the requested file on the fly. As input the requested file and table/column (resource) would be required again.

Ebase currently does not support BLOBS, so until then you may also consider storing documents using a document management system such as Alfresco, which is open source and free.
