A workflow process is a business process. It pulls together people tasks (interactive tasks) for multiple users and non-people tasks (system tasks) into a single process. Ebase Xi includes a workflow engine that processes all these tasks, supplies tasks for task lists etc.

An example might be a Freedom of Information Request: an organization might receive one of these from the public, then route it initially to a controller, who would then send it on to one or more additional people to supply the details, then back to the controller to tie it all together before sending out the response. The whole is covered by date targets, deadlines etc.

A prerequisite to doing this is that the Ebase Xi system needs to be able to identify individual users which means implementing a Logon Service - the most common example of this is by connecting to Windows Active Directory.

The workflow is a chaining process in which so many different related tasks come in a chain and finally it produce an absolute result. Workflow process is a heart of business process because without a suitable workflow management a business can not grow. A workflow consists of a sequence of linked steps and it plays an important role in each part of business. Workflow management helps to employee to improve their performance. It is associated with B2B (Business to Business), B2C (Business to Customer) information management.
