Ebase Designer starts OK locally, but not remotely.
An Ebase user can start up Designer locally, but from another office he gets an error message "I/O error contacting server".

This error can be caused by different reasons, including:
1. The versions of the Ebase Server and the Ebase Designer don't match.
Confirm the timestamp of the ufs.jar files located in UfsClient/lib and UfsServer/tomcat/webapps/ufs/WEB-INF/lib are both the same.
2. The DNS settings for the host name in the start_ebase_designer.bat file are incorrect.
Try pinging the host name, if that's what has been set in the start_ebase_designer.bat file. If the ping times out, the DNS settings need to be amended.
3. The host name or IP address, Webapp name or port number are incorrect in the start_ebase_designer.bat file.
Double-check that these are entered correctly.
4. The Ebase Server hasn't actually started up correctly.
