scheduled tasks won't run

#1

Postby Segi » Fri Sep 15, 2017 3:11 pm

I recently added 4 scheduled tasks which aren't executing. 3 of the tasks run weekly and the 4th runs daily.

Before I set them up as scheduled tasks, I made sure that the form for each task runs correctly.

When I go into the ebase admin console, its showing the next run date is blank.

I restarted Ebase and the tasks refuse to run

You can get more info by adding this to log4j.xml and restarting the server.

Code: Select all

<logger name="com.ebasetech.ufs.runtime.scheduler" additivity="false">
    <level value="DEBUG" />
    <appender-ref ref="SYSLOG"/>
</logger>
Which is Ebase version is your server?

I don't know what might have gone wrong. I would suggest:

- add the logging to log4j.xml
- restart the server
- remove the scheduled tasks from the server's workspace. Wait until the system reacts - watch the log messages.
- re-add the scheduled tasks and then look at the log messages. Each new task should log the first execution time.

It's been a while but I've had to troubleshoot this problem again today because the scheduled tasks are not running. When I log into the Ebase admin and go to scheduled tasks, All of my custom tasks didn't show the next execution date and time but all of the built in Ebase tasks did. I ended up deleting all of my tasks and recreating them and they now show a next execution date so I think that this issue is resolved for now.
