new deployment capability

A new deployment capability has been introduced that makes it much easier to deploy new applications and changes to target servers.
How much easier are to deploy 5.0 apps? Has anyone tried this yet?
At this point, I'm NOT looking for step by step instructions.
Just an overview of what's ahead.
(I plan to deploy very early in my development.)

Note: Instructions to set Xi 4.5 up on a Digital Ocean hosted Linux server.

New deployment

I have just installed version 5.0 onto a Microsoft Azure cloud server and then deployed an application from my local environment.
I was really pleased to find out just how easy this was.
Once I had set-up the remote server in preferences I just right clicked the project and selected deploy.
Then just followed the defaults.

I have to admit I only deployed the project and everything related to it so I have not tried the SQL section of the deployment or the deployment forms section.

I have only used the build-in deployment from the designer one time, just to see if it would work (it did  )

What I realy like (and have used in my tests) is that you don't need to use this at all. Just copying the changed files or deploying using a source control system makes the workflow much more like the workflow we use when developping in other languages/systems than Ebase.

So, for me, the answer to your question is: Much easier!

David
