REST / response

#1

Postby Steve James » Wed Nov 18, 2015 10:42 am

We often come across situations where it would be good if Ebase could provide the capability to expose REST services. We use integration services occasionally but often have issues where 3rd party suppliers/applications struggle to consume them.

Creating a new element something like DataResponse ie a "form" that just returns the value of a single field and nothing else. Ebase developers could write the field value to be json or xml easily enough.

Thanks

This subject has been raised a few times and is a candidate to be included in V5.1. Though at the moment I'm not sure what the specification would be. Do you ever need to return anything more complicate than a single field?

I think returning a single field would be a good starting point as we'd be able to build fairly complex structures within Javascript functions.

This is something that I'd love to use as well!

Support for calling REST web services has been added to V5.1. The ability to publish a REST web service will be in the following release.
