Extensive logging

I have a slightly annoying issue where my server logs have way to much INFO logging going on. Every dynamic list has many lines of INFO debugging messages in the server logs

They look like this:

Code: Select all

Wed Apr 10 08:35:31: INFO Building dynamic list OptionValuesByGroupID for field Rules-Opt_Group_OptionID
Wed Apr 10 08:35:31: INFO Building dynamic list OptionValuesByGroupID for field Rules-Opt_Group_OptionID

I have hundreds of lines like this.

This is my log4j.xml

Code: Select all

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE log4j:configuration SYSTEM "log4j.dtd" >

<log4j:configuration>

  <!--com.ebasetech.ufs.api.logging.ELegacyLogger is a log4j appender that honours properties from UfsSetup.properties
        (Ufs.logError, Ufs.logInfo, Ufs.logDirName, Ufs.logFileName, Ufs.retainOldLogs) -->
  <appender name="SYSLOG" class="com.ebasetech.ufs.api.logging.ELegacyLogger"/>

  <!--com.ebasetech.ufs.api.logging.ELegacyAuditLogger is a log4j appender that honours properties from UfsSetup.properties
        (Ufs.logError, Ufs.logInfo, Ufs.auditLogDirName, Ufs.auditLogFileName, Ufs.retainOldAuditLogs) -->
  <appender name="AUDIT" class="com.ebasetech.ufs.api.logging.ELegacyAuditLogger"/>

  <!-- picks up general ebase logging messages. Including execution logs -->
  <logger name="com.ebasetech.ufs.api.logging.userlog" additivity="false">
    <level value="ALL" />
    <appender-ref ref="SYSLOG"/>
  </logger>

  <!-- picks up security audit logging messages.-->
  <logger name="com.ebasetech.ufs.api.logging.auditlog" additivity="false">
    <level value="ALL" />
    <appender-ref ref="AUDIT"/>
  </logger>

  <!-- Log output from all scheduled tasks to SYSLOG -->
  <logger name="EbaseScheduledTaskLogger" additivity="false">
    <level value="INFO" />
    <appender-ref ref="SYSLOG"/>
  </logger>

<!-- Example logger for other messages -->
<!--  <logger name="net.sf.ehcache" additivity="false">
    <level value="ALL" />
    <appender-ref ref="SYSLOG"/>
  </logger>-->

<!-- Enable for PDF debugging -->
<!--
<logger name="com.ebasetech.ufs.runtime.output" additivity="false">
    <level value="ALL" />
    <appender-ref ref="SYSLOG"/>
</logger>
-->
  <root>
    <priority value ="ERROR" />
    <appender-ref ref="SYSLOG"/>
  </root>

</log4j:configuration>
How can I fix this ?

You can't stop these messages except by turning off loginfo in server properties, which you probably don't want to do. You can also control how often a dynamic list is built in the list properties for a field, but I guess you already know that. It looks like you have a list on a table column and that each list displayed can potentially have different values (otherwise there would just be one message).
