the validation seems not working when initial value given..

Hi,
I have a field which I give it a validation, so when the user enter a value then it will execute a function to fill other fields based on that entered value.
When that field is not given any value in before event of the page, the validation run as expected, but when any value given to it, the validation seems ignored. What should I do ti fix this?

Run the function to set the dependent fields at the point where you set the field value e.g. the before event.
