What error do you get when you start Tomcat? If you've saved your work, it won't be lost - it's saved in the database. If you haven't saved it, you need to get the server re-started first.

Clear your Tomcat cache and then Restart the server.

This is the folders located under:

UfsServer/tomcat/work/Catalina/localhost/

You can clear all the folders under localhost. If you are worried about doing this, you can cut all the folders and move them elsewhere for the time being, but normally, I just delete them.

I have seen this issue reported before after a power cut.

Please let me know if it resolves your problem.

I deleted the catalina folder and it didn't make a difference.

When I choose to "Start Ebase Server" the command prompt appears but dissapears very quickly, I can't read any messages.

So Tomcat was started from the .bat file rather than as a windows service?

Please can you forward your server logs to Ebase support.
If you can ZIP up the logs under UfsServer/tomcat/logs
