Control idea for v4

It would be nice to embed a form in a form. A subform control.
I do miss that in the beta version.

I've added this to the list of new controls to be looked at in the next development phase (Version 4.1). It would be really nice to have an embedded Form Control like this, but there are significant technical difficulties to be resolved.

So, it will be investigated, but no promises as to whether it will actually be included.

Do you have any news about the outcome of the investigation?

Sorry, it's not been included in V4.1 . However, it's something that gets talked about quite a lot here at Ebase and we have produced a brief specification of what it would do. I'm pretty sure that it will be added in the future. Do you have a specific requirement?

Not right away, but we are thinking about replacing our java webportal containing the forms by a Ebase based portal. A subform control would be a perfect thing for integration of forms into this portal. Now we use an iframe for it and that's not ideal.

Good to hear that a subform control is still in the picture for a future release

1 year later. Perhaps you have some news about this?

No change I'm afraid. It's still on the list of improvements, but doesn't have enough priority to get done. My problem is that this represents quite a lot of work, and no-one yet has come up with a pressing need.

I can imagine that this represents lots of work. I hope this feature will implemented somewhere in the future. I think this will be a powerfull addition to Ebase.
