Error during host id licence check: Error executing command

Hi,

We are planning to migrate our Ebase installations from servers running Redhat 5 and 6 to Redhat 7.4.

I have done a fresh installation to be our new testserver (running Commutity Edition). This works as expected, but at startup, the following is logged:

Code: Select all

Fri Aug 25 15:38:03: Error during host id licence check: Error executing command /sbin/ifconfig eth0 - no response received
This is infact correct, as per default of Redhat 7, the first network interface on this server has the name 'ens192', eth0 does not excist. (See https://access.redhat.com/documentation ... aming.html )

Because we will need systemid's when we will be migrating our production servers, I tried getting one in EbaseAdmin. As expected this fails too:

Code: Select all

com.ebasetech.ufs.runtime.events.rhinojavascript.RhinoScriptException: Wrapped com.ebasetech.ufs.kernel.FormException: com.ebasetech.ufs.licence.HostIdException: Error executing command /sbin/ifconfig eth0 - no response received (SYSADMIN_LICENSE_GETHOSTID#4)
Is this something we can fix our selves (configuring the interface name somewhere) or is it a bug that should be fixed?

Regards,

David

It's a bug. You will need to request emergency licences until it has been fixed.
