I installed a brand new copy of 5.0.1 on a new server. I did not import anything or make any changes other than in tomcat\conf\server.xml where I changed the port from 3030 to port 80.
When I enter the url http://localhost in the browser instead of getting a landing page, the page is completely blank. The developer console shows a 404 not found error. The Tomcat server logs don't have any errors logged. The server does the same thing on the default port of 3030.
I am running Ebase on Windows Server 2012. If I go to the designer I am able to load the Admin app and log into it.
fresh Ebase installation won't load

I think a URL of just localhost used to take you to the tomcat admin app. We have removed all of these "extra" tomcat apps in V5 for security reasons. You should find them in an archive folder in the tomcat file system, so you can reinstate them if you want to. A URL of localhost/ebase can be used to test if the system is up - this shows the documentation index page.

It needs the correct port and web app name. For some reason I don't understand every time you type in "ebase" with a small "e" as the first character, it gets changed to "Ebase". Your url should be:
Code: Select all
localhost:3030/ebase // "ebase" all in lower case

Hi Segi,
I just installed Ebase and tested the URL:
http://localhost:3030/ebase/
In my browser it showed the the help index page.
I changed the connector port listen on port 80 inside:
<server-installation>/UfsServer/tomcat/conf/server.xml
Typing in http://localhost/ebase/ into by browser showed the same help index page.
Note that the first time I tried running Ebase on port 80 it did not work because I had another process running on this port. I shut down the other process and started Ebase and everything works as I expect it to.
Perhaps you might have another process listening on port 80?
Steve
